WOW! What can you say?
There was no home track advantage for Scott because he’s never raced at Donington before on any kind of bike! I enjoyed watching the wide, sweeping lines that he takes, very “Old School” style of riding!
Great ride from Iannone until the pressure of trying to respond to Scott closing in on him took it’s toll and he went down (thankfully unhurt) at the top of Craner.
Good fight between Mike di Meglio (future World Champ?) and Marc Marquez (a young man who makes DanI Pedrosa look positively gigantic!)
This was all coupled with some damned good racing lower down the order.
Ian McConnachie was the last British rider to take a solo GP victory at home, when he won the 80cc race at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1986. Young Mr Redding has got a BIG future -- it took Valentino Rossi 11 races to achieve his first ever win.
Scott did it in 8!
C’mon Aprilia -- give Scott and the Blusens squad some Factory parts - they deserve them!
Well i was telling everyone on Fri/Sat nights around the campfire over a few drinks that Scott was the lad to watch in the 125's and that if we were gonna get a British winner he would be the one.
Superb performance by the young man, was thrilling watching him close the gap lap after lap until the pressure told on Iannone.
Fantastic result Scott and your total focus and determination to succeed shone through clearly - long may your success continue..very best wishes, jackie, Birmingham x
Brilliant ride from young Scott, i was saying that second place would be an unbeleivable result as i could see Iannone hanging on. But a victory is magnificent and fully deserved for a faultless race.
I've not updsated the GP Future site for a while now but Scott's win resulted in my longest news post for a long while.
That lad has a supremely mature and level head on his shoulders. He's not bigging himself up at all and presumably not taking too much pressure either. I see no reason for this not to be the start of a glittering career. The very best of luck to him.
We see Ian McConnachie every weekend at BSB meets as his son, Ben, races in the 125 class. Such a nice family, the McConnachie's, Ian still has that sparkle in his eyes when he re-lives the days, racing and winning against Aspar and Co...........
Tom Weeden rode at Brands Hatch last weekend in the British Super Bike 125 championship. Brands is Tom’s home track, but a track which he has little experience at due to MSVR’s no under 18 policy on Track Days.
KRP’s Tim Hastings climbed on to the Championship podium for the fourth time this season when he scored an impressive 3rd place finish in the latest round of the Relentless 125GP Championship at Croft.
Nicole McAleer's dream of finishing in the main championship points on Sunday at the North Yorkshire track of Croft, was dashed on lap 12 of the 14 lap Relentless British 125 GP Championship and ACU Academy Cup
Round 10 of the British National Super Stock Championship took place this weekend at the popular Croft Circuit just outside Darlington, a circuit as many of you will know is under threat of closure due to noise regulations and complaining neighbours.
As you know, I have been racing in Britain’s most prestigious 125 National Championship: the Relentless 125GP British Super Bike Championship. Amongst this I have also competed in several Thundersport GB race meets for extra track time.
