About Me:
Hey!
My name is Jack Groves and I'm 19 years old. I race in the British Superstock 600 Championship, i am the rider and team owner of jack groves racing. My ambition is to race in the Superbike Class at British and World Championship level. The reason for being a team owner is so i can control and put monies in the right places, I have always been into bikes since my dad raced, I started on a Moto X bike playing in a field, and on practice tracks. My dad owned a Yamaha yz250 moto x and I loved playing on his bike more than on my 80cc. I couldn't touch the ground so he caught me every time I wanted to stop, my passion and love started for bikes then.
I first started roadracing in late 2005 on a Honda rs 125cc with New era and North Gloucester roadracing clubs. At the start of 2006 I rode the Honda rs 125 and a Honda rs 250 at club to practice. On the 125 I never fell below 5th place. The first time on the 250cc I qualified 3rd at Brands Hatch.
Halfway through the season I made the switch from 2 stroke to 4 stroke and rode the Yamaha r6 2006 model at competitive club level, and loved it but I had to adapt quick to learn the riding style of a 600 with the large amount of engine brake, i now enjoy the engine break and power on a 600cc.
I started the 2007 Season in the Supersport Cup Championship riding the r6. In the first BSB official test at Snetterton I was the fastest in the wet conditions. I was getting consitent Top Ten finishes in the Cup Championship until another rider at Cadell Park wiped me out leaving me with a bad knee injury Unfortunately I was not able to finish the season or get back onto my R6 until after Christmas, so during this time im worked on my fitness.
In 2008 I started off in the British Supersport Championship on my 2006 r6 but made a switch from Supersport to Superstock 600 from Snetterton on a highly prepared 2008 Yamaha by Rob Mac Racing which i am greatly thankfull. I'm now happily running Top Tens and consistantly running in the points.
This year I raced in the world Superstock Championship as a wild card at Brands Hatch. I finished in a respectable 21st place (my bike was British spec, not world Superbike spec), i loved it there in World Superbike, this is where i want to be!
