Nathan Westwood....... MiniGP rounds 6 and 7

what can i say, Nathan goes from strength to strength with yet another 2 poles and 6 wins, taking the total to 20 wins out of 21 races. WELL DONE NATHAN round 5 at Whilton mills went as planned, with no real dramas. once again, our friend Brad Huges was running his more powerful conti in our races. This time Fab-racing decided to let Brad start from second on the grid, as that's where his qualifying time put him, it was decided it would be safer than starting Brad form the back behind the slo… Continue

Tom Weeden Mallory Park 27th July Thundersport GB Rd 9

Thundersport GB Rd 9 Mallory Park 27th July The weather was hot and sunny, and there were 22 people on the grid, including 5 BSB 125 riders. Tom qualified 8th on the grid. But got off to a terrible start in the race and was about 15th going into the first corner. Tom wasn’t worried about this as it was a long 20 lap race and he had time to work his way up. Over the next 10 laps Tom found himself in 7th. He overtook the 6th place man Adam Robinson, on the brakes going into the hairpin. But… Continue

Tom Weeden 6th July Emra Round 4 Mallory Park

On a wet and windy Mallory Park Tom got his Emra championship back on track after his 3 DNF’s so far this season with Emra. One was when the chain snapped in the assembly area, and the two others when he crashed in the first race (round 3) and ground his little finger away going into Edwina’s and one poor finish (due to detonating a piston at Round 1). Toms dad thought that Tom would be slightly cautious of Edwina’s after the crash, but Tom wasn’t cautious at all round there. (So no ghosts then)… Continue

Nathan Westwood....... Minigp Round 5 at rowrah

well off to Rowrah in Cumbria we went. the weather forecasts for the next 3 days didn't look to good at all. we awoke to an overcast track, but no rain yet, so out on the track we went. after a few laps Nathan came back in complaining of a skipping rear end. after a few adjustments to the compression and rebound on the rear shock, out he went again. at the end of the session Nathan came up pit lane with a big smile on his face........the bike is working great he said. later that day the rain ca… Continue

Tom Weeden Snetterton 28th/29th June Thundersport GB Rd 7/8

Qualifying Qualifying 1 went well and Tom put in some consistently quick lap times despite his injured left hand. He managed to qualify 4th fastest. In qualifying 2 Tom bettered his time but not enough; the combined qualifying result meant Tom dropped to 6th on the grid. Tom didn’t worry about this, as he was confident he could get on the front row in the Superpole race. Superpole Race 1 16 laps Tom got a good start from 6th on the grid and was 3rd into turn one. He overtook Adam Dudley by s… Continue

Dave Green Ellough Park round 4

Wet / dry track meant we missed most of Saturdays practice changing wheels :( in dry qualifying (on wets) Roo was 1st I got 2nd, and the same on slicks in the next session. Sunday R1 Roo won and I had to follow him round in 2nd, race 2 just the same, R3 I got a loads better start and more importantly Roo didnt! But 3/4 of the way around lap 1 after taking the lead i crashed. Not a cool high side or even a fast bike wrecker i pretty much fell over at about 15mph with no damage whatsoever. But cos… Continue

Brands Hatch 31st May 1st June Thundersport GB Superpole Race 16 laps Rd 5 Tom had qualified 3rd and was determined to better that result in the race. His start was terrible. Tom was 7th into the first corner. After the first lap he managed to get past 2 of them and was in 5th. By then the front pack was going around Druids as Tom was going into Paddock. This was a long race, so Tom started to give chase. He caught them up bit by bit lap by lap. He was with 4th and 3rd place. Then on the last… Continue

The 2008 Isle of Man TT saw a scorching first race as Australian Cameron Donald, on the Relentless by TAS Suzuki, stormed to his first ever TT win, taking victory in the Dainese Superbike TT. Tom Weeden Thundersport GB Round 3 Cadwell Park 17th 18th May

17th May Thundersport GB Round 3 Cadwell Park First Qualifying Session Qualifying 1 in damp/drying conditions went ok, Tom had wet tyre’s on and did a few quick laps before coming back in. As the track was drying up he didn’t want to chew up his wet tyre’s by remaining out on track. He was 6th fastest overall. Tom was pretty happy with this as he wasn’t pushing it. But he was determined to go better and get on the front row; the front row gets pit girls! Second Qualifying Session The track had… Continue

Tom Weeden NG Road Racing Club - 10th May Snetterton

Tom went out for practice with the 400’s, 250’s and other 125’s. He learned the track quickly and put in some quick times. He went onto the grass once coming out of The Esses as he was pushing quite hard wanting to get a quick time. Tom came in and complained about front-end chatter going through Riches Corner and Sear Corner, but was 8th fastest out of 45 (including 250’s and 400’s!) GPFan My thoughts on the BSB race at Oulton Park

Well i thought i would give this blogging thing a go, so here are my thoughts on the BSB race at Oulton Park. A good weekend for Shane Byrne and Airwaves Ducati - A double win for Shakey and a couple of 3rd place finishes for Leon Camier so all in all a great weekend for the Airwaves Ducati team particularly with...... A bit of a disaster for HM Plant Honda. Crutchlow lead race one until he outbraked himself ending up in 6th, Haslam got a very good 2nd place and i think could have won the race… Continue

Tom Weeden 4/5th May Derby Phoenix Cadwell Park

Sunday May 4th Practice Tom Weeden went out for his practice with the 250’s and the 400’s. The sun was out and the track was warm. He was putting in consistently quick lap times but would have been faster if it had not been for the 400’s and 250’s. They were braking much before Tom was and they have no corner speed at all, so Tom overtakes them on the brakes and around the corners but as soon as they got to a straight they overtook him again. Tom was 6th fastest out of 44 bikes! Race 1 Tom was… Continue

Tom Weeden 3rd May Retford and District MC Cadwell Park

Practice Tom went out and got used to the track and the bike. He was a bit scared of going over the mountain as he is very light and he thought the bike may flip, but Tom soon got used to it by getting as much of his very little weight as possible over the front of the bike. Mark Keen had told Tom to aim for 1 minute 39 seconds as a lap time. He went well in dry but cloudy conditions and was doing 1 minute 48’s and was only going at a steady pace, not pushing it at all just learning the corners… Continue

With the dissapointment I had at Brands of not been able to get out for qualifying, I was eager to get out there at Thruxton and see what I could do. So the first round of the British Superbikes from the old airfield of Thruxton is over with Airwaves Ducati man Shane Byrne and HM Plant Honda's Cal Crutchlow taking a victory and a second place each. There was some good exciting racing racing, though i can't say i'm particularly keen on the track, it seemed at times that the bikes were out there on their own with no-one watching! Another very exiting race meet at Emra! Last meeting Tom Weeden detonated a piston and finished in a low 12th place because the bike wouldn’t rev above 10,000. And this time things were just as eventful. The heavens opened on Saturday night and the track was wet for Tom’s timed practice session. After a 4 and a half hour journey up to Oulton Park, Tom Weeden arrived at the track on Thursday night ready for the Friday track day. Tom Weeden 1st round of the New Thundersport GB series

1st round of the New Thundersport GB series saw Tom Weeden back at Mallory Park. Tom had been looking forward to this series very much, with a format that sees longer races! On a rainy, cold day Tom went out in practice and put in some quick laps. He was told to stay on and not crash so he didn’t try too hard. He did all of the 10-minute practice and came in saying the bike was running a bit cold. With the radiator tapped up Tom went back out for timed practice and took it steady for a few lap… Continue
