round 5 at Whilton mills went as planned, with no real dramas.
once again, our friend Brad Huges was running his more powerful conti in our races.
This time Fab-racing decided to let Brad start from second on the grid, as that's where his qualifying time put him, it was decided it would be safer than starting Brad form the back behind the slo…

Thundersport GB Rd 9 Mallory Park 27th July
The weather was hot and sunny, and there were 22 people on the grid, including 5 BSB 125 riders. Tom qualified 8th on the grid. But got off to a terrible start in the race and was about 15th going into the first corner. Tom wasn’t worried about this as it was a long 20 lap race and he had time to work his way up. Over the next 10 laps Tom found himself in 7th. He overtook the 6th place man Adam Robinson, on the brakes going into the hairpin. But…

On a wet and windy Mallory Park Tom got his Emra championship back on track after his 3 DNF’s so far this season with Emra. One was when the chain snapped in the assembly area, and the two others when he crashed in the first race (round 3) and ground his little finger away going into Edwina’s and one poor finish (due to detonating a piston at Round 1). Toms dad thought that Tom would be slightly cautious of Edwina’s after the crash, but Tom wasn’t cautious at all round there. (So no ghosts then)…

well off to Rowrah in Cumbria we went.
the weather forecasts for the next 3 days didn't look to good at all.
we awoke to an overcast track, but no rain yet, so out on the track we went. after a few laps Nathan came back in complaining of a skipping rear end. after a few adjustments to the compression and rebound on the rear shock, out he went again. at the end of the session Nathan came up pit lane with a big smile on his face........the bike is working great he said.
later that day the rain ca…

Qualifying
Qualifying 1 went well and Tom put in some consistently quick lap times despite his injured left hand. He managed to qualify 4th fastest.
In qualifying 2 Tom bettered his time but not enough; the combined qualifying result meant Tom dropped to 6th on the grid.
Tom didn’t worry about this, as he was confident he could get on the front row in the Superpole race.
Superpole Race 1 16 laps
Tom got a good start from 6th on the grid and was 3rd into turn one. He overtook Adam Dudley by s…

Brands Hatch 31st May 1st June Thundersport GB
Superpole Race 16 laps Rd 5
Tom had qualified 3rd and was determined to better that result in the race. His start was terrible. Tom was 7th into the first corner. After the first lap he managed to get past 2 of them and was in 5th. By then the front pack was going around Druids as Tom was going into Paddock.
This was a long race, so Tom started to give chase. He caught them up bit by bit lap by lap. He was with 4th and 3rd place. Then on the last…

17th May Thundersport GB Round 3 Cadwell Park
First Qualifying Session
Qualifying 1 in damp/drying conditions went ok, Tom had wet tyre’s on and did a few quick laps before coming back in. As the track was drying up he didn’t want to chew up his wet tyre’s by remaining out on track.
He was 6th fastest overall. Tom was pretty happy with this as he wasn’t pushing it. But he was determined to go better and get on the front row; the front row gets pit girls!

Well i thought i would give this blogging thing a go, so here are my thoughts on the BSB race at Oulton Park.

A bit of a disaster for HM Plant Honda. Crutchlow lead race one until he outbraked himself ending up in 6th, Haslam got a very good 2nd place and i think could have won the race…

Sunday May 4th
Practice
Tom Weeden went out for his practice with the 250’s and the 400’s. The sun was out and the track was warm. He was putting in consistently quick lap times but would have been faster if it had not been for the 400’s and 250’s. They were braking much before Tom was and they have no corner speed at all, so Tom overtakes them on the brakes and around the corners but as soon as they got to a straight they overtook him again.
Tom was 6th fastest out of 44 bikes!

Practice
Tom went out and got used to the track and the bike. He was a bit scared of going over the mountain as he is very light and he thought the bike may flip, but Tom soon got used to it by getting as much of his very little weight as possible over the front of the bike.
Mark Keen had told Tom to aim for 1 minute 39 seconds as a lap time.
He went well in dry but cloudy conditions and was doing 1 minute 48’s and was only going at a steady pace, not pushing it at all just learning the corners…

On a rainy, cold day Tom went out in practice and put in some quick laps. He was told to stay on and not crash so he didn’t try too hard. He did all of the 10-minute practice and came in saying the bike was running a bit cold.
