Good Luck Tom,
Let us know how you get on, we are all off to Whilton for the first southern round
I think your old 70 is about to get its first airing of the season
I'm heading to Oulton Park this weekend not really fussed what the weather does. Its nicer for everyone if its dry but right now i've got such good feel on the bike so the weather can do what it likes.
Just hope they turn the lights out a little quicker, lol, they were a bit too slow for me at Thruxton.
I mentioned the other day that my buddy will race in one of the support races during Shanghai MotoGP. Well that is not going to happen ... Chinese organizers (or officials, who knows) cancelled all the support races ... The pre-Olympics paranoia in China is reaching new heights ...
I am not sure if they are allowed but even if they were not, that means nothing in China ... I heard that this is the last time the MotoGP race is held there anyway (although the contract was for longer)... I don't think this affects 125 and 250cc races, only the support races.
From what I heard there was a talk about the whole event not going ahead as some MotoGP (or 125, 250) racers thought about boycotting the race. But it goes ahead as planned minus the support races. In the eyes of China the less foreigners inside the country now the less chance of some embarassment or trouble... How they plan to handle this during the Olympics that I have no idea :-)
I'm not really a fan of the Olympics but it seems odd that a country that is dead set against the prying eyes of outsiders hosting events like the Olympics and MotoGP.
Scholtz dominates in the rain
Mathew Scholtz set a stunning pole time in two soaking wet sessions on Friday afternoon to qualify ahead of lap record holder Matthew Hoyle, Sturla Fagerhaug and Cup leader JD Beach. The 15 year old South African was less than a second faster than his rivals but what makes his success [...]
Arrived for testing on Friday 8th with brilliant sunshine and lovely warm temperatures! Testing went well with both the Honda Gp125cc and the Aprilia 125cc running spot on.
Saturday - awoke to pouring rain, Sam went out for practice on both bikes, came in very happy, fastest F125cc out on track by a second a lap.
Qualifying [...]
Falkirk’s Tim Hastings maintained his superb recent form as took his third consecutive 125 GP Championship podium at his home circuit of Knockhill, and in doing so also extended his lead in the Cup competition.
The weekend started for Tim on Wednesday as he took part in the “Superbikes in the Square” publicity event. Despite the [...]
Britain’s Graeme Gowland debut in the World Endurance Championship nearly ended with the perfect result of a podium on the Phase One Yamaha but less than a minute denied the British team that final podium place.
When the chequered flag came out at the end of the 8 hours at the German Oschersleben circuit the [...]
Teenager Nicole McAleer put the disastrous Oulton Park race weekend firmly behind her when she got a good start of the line at Knockhill during the Relentless 125 GP race; however this wasn’t to be as the race only lasted one lap when two riders collided, both were unhurt.
On the rerun McAleer wasn’t able to [...]
