I keep working all hours on the bike but it is a slow process and it seems it cannot be rushed! Well you must first of all have an ACU road race license. To get this you have to attend a one day training course costing approx.£80 then you apply for your license this will cost you about £50 for the Novice Road Race Passenger license. From this point you need to get a ride and just begin the process of learning the skill of Sidecar Passengering. The main attributes you will need will be to be fit strong agile and have no fear! Depending on how quickly you learn, it will take you about two seasons to get your national license, but you will always be learning. Being a passenger is probably the cheapest way to go racing as you don't need to go out and buy a bike or pay for anything except possibly half the race entry cost of about £100 and in some cases at the higher level if you are good enough many passengers actually don't have to pay anything!

How much experience is required to passenger one of these? (not that i'm after doing it! :) )

I watched them at Croft and was intrigued by how they hung off the thing. Is it a hard thing to get into?

McAleer bags handful of Academy Cup points at Knockhill

Teenager Nicole McAleer put the disastrous Oulton Park race weekend firmly behind her when she got a good start of the line at Knockhill during the Relentless 125 GP race; however this wasn’t to be as the race only lasted one lap when two riders collided, both were unhurt. On the rerun McAleer wasn’t able to [...]
